Every military in the world builds its fitness standard on calisthenics — because it works, anywhere, for every soldier.

  • Functional strength Push-ups, pull-ups and squats train movement patterns you actually use — not isolated gym machines.
  • Zero excuses No gym, no gear, no commute. Your barracks, bedroom or backyard is the training ground.
  • Joint-friendly progression Scale every movement up or down. Build volume before intensity — the military way.
  • Endurance + strength together Military calisthenics builds work capacity, not just one-rep maxes. Look strong, be strong, last longer.

Military Calisthenics FAQ

What is military calisthenics?
Military calisthenics is bodyweight strength and conditioning modeled on how soldiers train: push-ups, pull-ups, squats, lunges, dips, planks and conditioning drills organized into progressive routines. It builds functional strength, muscular endurance and work capacity with little or no equipment. See our full military calisthenics workout plan.
Can I build muscle with military calisthenics?
Yes. Progressive overload with bodyweight movements — more reps, harder variations, slower tempo, shorter rest — builds lean muscle in the chest, back, shoulders, arms and core. Structure is what separates a real program from random push-up sessions, which is exactly what the app provides.
Do I need any equipment?
Most workouts need zero equipment — just floor space. A pull-up bar unlocks the full back and bicep missions, but every program in the app offers no-equipment alternatives. Start with our no-equipment bodyweight workout.
Is the app free?
Free to download, and your first missions of the active program are free to complete. Military Calisthenics PRO unlocks every program, workout and the AI workout generator — with a 7-day free trial.
How often should I train?
Beginners: 3–4 days per week with rest days between sessions. Intermediate and up: 5–6 sessions alternating push, pull, legs and core — exactly how the app schedules its programs. Consistency beats intensity.
Is it good for beginners?
Yes — every movement scales (knee push-ups, incline push-ups, assisted squats). The app asks your level during setup and starts you on an on-ramp week before ramping up. Or start with the free calisthenics for beginners guide.
